Jerry King Sr., age 70, passed away on Aug. 22, 2013. Mr. King retired from the Social Security Administration. He is survived by daughters, Kelly Ashley and Karen Dixon (Braxton); sons, Jerry King Jr. (Betty), Johnny Waldrop (Robin) and Wayne Waldrop; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Key (James); and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Key officiating with burial in Eva Cemetery. The New Gardendale Funeral Home directed.
