Betty Jane Edwards, age 63, of Calera, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. She was preceded in death by her son, Bo Edwards; and nephew, Chris Roy.

Her survivors include her sons, Stephen Edwards and Tommy Edwards (Courtney) both of Calera; parents, George William and Elizabeth Marie Tomlin Roy of Calera; grandchildren, Robert Gene Edwards III of Orange Beach, Janna R. Edwards of Orange Beach, Amber Jenae Morgan (Daniel Meeks) of Calera, Ginger Marie Edwards of Orange Beach, William Dyson Edwards of Calera and Brody Joseph Edwards of Calera; great-grandson, Grady Wayne Meeks of Calera; sisters, Barbara Sue Frank (Timmy) and Doris Ann Sajpel (Wally) both of Calera; brothers, George Roy Jr. of Clanton and James Richard Roy (Joyce) of Calera; three nieces; six nephews; four great-nephews; seven great-nieces; and a host of extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home on Sept. 4 with a funeral service  following at 2 p.m. Interment is in Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
