NORTH SHELBY — Local teenagers interested in a computer animation career have an opportunity to learn much more about their chosen field — but they better hurry.

Applications to participate in the North Shelby Library’s six-week computer animation workshop are due Sept. 20. The workshop, to be taught by a professional digital artist, will run from Oct. 21-Dec. 4.

Library officials made plans to host the workshop after winning a $5,000 Loleta D. Fyan grant from the American Library Association, according to a library press release.

“North Shelby is honored to win the Loleta D. Fyan grant and is excited to offer such an innovative program to our teen patrons,” said Director of Library Services Katie Guerin in the press release.

The workshop will culminate in a film festival Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. The audience will be asked to vote on their favorite film.
