Paul David Graves, age 61, of Birmingham, passed away on Sept. 29, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. He was born in Birmingham on Aug. 10, 1952, the son of the late Hobert Graves and the late Bertie Swindle Graves.
Paul was a member of the Real Life Fellowship Church. He was employed with Mr. Buggs Pest Control. He was also a member of the NRA.
He is survived by: wife, Mina Graves of Birmingham; sister, Carolyn Knecht (Clyde) of Libby, Mont.; nephew, Gregory Griffin (Jennifer) of Helena, Mont.; son, Casey Hayes of Pinson; son, Timothy Graves (Christina) of Helena; son, Andy Gipson (Stephanie) of Locust Fork; grandchild, Karsyn Gipson of Locust Fork; and a special friend and brother-in-law-in-Christ, John Tennant of Birmingham.
Visitation will be held on Oct. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home, located at 1709 Lay Dam Road in Clanton. Funeral services will be held on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. from the Graves Gap Church with Rev. Patrick Smith and Rev. Sheryl Hilyer officiating. The body will also lie-in-state one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Graves Gap Cemetery in Hayden (Blount Co.).
