Ellis Wayne Rich, age 67 of Pelham, passed away on Oct. 5, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. He was born in Birmingham on Jan. 29, 1946, the son of the late Ellis James Rich and the late Billie Winslett Rich.

He was a construction contractor. He served his country in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by wife, Debbie Ellison-Rich of Pelham; daughter, Michelle Cruso of Birmingham; grandson, Nicolas Cruso of Birmingham; grandson, Jake Cruso of Birmingham; sister, Elaine Feese of Alabaster; brother, Dwight Rich (Virginia) of Clanton; special nephew and buddy, J.T. Ellison of Calera; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other friends.

Funeral services will be held on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. from the Bryan Presbyterian Church in Birmingham with Rev. Jimmy Rowell officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Bryan Memorial Presbyterian Cemetery in Birmingham.
