I-65, U.S. 31 lane closures continuing this week

Drivers traveling on parts of Interstate 65 and U.S. 31 in Shelby County during the nighttime hours this week should plan more time for their travels.
The Alabama Department of Transportation announced the following lane closures for the two roads this week:
-Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, crews began closing portions of Interstate 65 northbound between milepost 227.5 and milepost 228.5 in Calera to repave the road. All lanes reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7.
The portion of I-65 will see lane closures during the same times each night through the night of Thursday, Oct. 10.
-Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, crews began closing portions of U.S. 31 between I-65 exit 231 in Calera and exit 238 in Alabaster to continue repaving the stretch of highway. All lanes of U.S. 31 were reopened by 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7.
The portion of U.S. 31 will see lane closures during the same times each night through the night of Thursday, Oct. 10.
