Pelham leaders will hold their final meeting of the year with the city’s business owners on Oct. 22, but will continue to hold the meetings once a quarter in 2014, according to Pelham Mayor Gary Waters.

Waters said he already is working to book the dates for the 2014 business council meetings to ensure there is no conflict with other events at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.

“We really need to book our dates early to ensure there is no conflict,” Waters said during an Oct. 7 City Council work session. “We are trying to do the meetings on the third week of the first month of the quarter.”

Pelham already has held three meetings with the city’s business owners over the past year to discuss everything from the city’s pending school system to sign ordinances. Each meeting has drawn between 50-100 Pelham business owners.

After the Oct. 22 meeting, which will begin at 11 a.m. at the Civic Complex, the city is planning to have its 2014 business meetings on Jan. 22, April 22, July 22 and Oct. 21.
