Shoppers looking to find everything from vintage clothing to video games will be able to do so next month at a new Alabaster retailer.

Alabaster residents Karen and Todd Williams are planning to celebrate the grand opening of The Keep at 8919 Alabama 119 South, Suite 104 during an 11 a.m. ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 2.

On Oct. 21, Karen Williams said the family is working to put the final touches on the store, and said The Keep will feature a gamut of different types of items.

“We will have vintage housewares, vintage clothing, records. My husband’s specialty is vintage and rare video games, and we will have those in the store too,” Karen Williams said, noting the store also will sell comic books and new items.

In addition to offering a wide range of items, the store also will offer community-related events, such as video game competitions and table-top gaming sessions.

“We will have a pretty large entertainment room, so customers can hang out, play video games or hang out and watch TV,” Karen Williams said, noting the store is planning to host regular game competitions, workshops, anime and sci-fi nights and more.

“We hope to have something for everyone,” Karen Williams said. “Whether you’re looking for the perfect dress or just looking to show off your Street Fighter skills, we look forward to seeing you.”

After it opens on Nov. 2, The Keep will be open from Tuesdays-Thursdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and on Sundays from noon-5 p.m. The store will be closed on Mondays.
