Maebell Dawson, of Chelsea, age 80, died Dec. 1, 2013, at Brookwood Medical Center.

Visitation will be held at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel on Dec. 3 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel on Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lee Bevan officiating. Burial will be in Vincent Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughters, Melinda Lenning (Ray) of Chelsea, Crista Hamilton (Randy) of Chelsea and Penny Gay (Rick) of Chelsea; sisters, Virginia Carr of Birmingham and Marsha Thompson of South Carolina; grandchildren, Tiffney Sanders (Alex), Courtney Gay and Morgan Gay; and great-grandchildren, Brody Sanders and Bronnor Sanders.

She is preceded in death by husband, Rev. Joe Dawson.
