Drivers who regularly cross over the Stonehaven Trail railroad crossing should plan different travel routes for Dec. 11-12, Pelham Mayor Gary Waters announced during a Dec. 3 City Council meeting.

The CSX railroad company is planning to close the crossing on Stonehaven Trail, which serves as an access road from U.S. 31 to several subdivisions in Pelham and Helena, on the two days.

“It will only be the Stonehaven Trail crossing on those two days,” Waters said, noting CSX previously scrapped plans to close the Stonehaven Trail and the Shelby County 52 crossings on the same day in late November.

Waters said the Pelham Police Department recently purchased a new portable digital information board, and is planning to place the message board at the crossing over the next several days to notify drivers of the upcoming track closing.
