Man arrested for sexual abuse of a child younger than 12

MONTEVALLO – A Montevallo man was arrested Dec. 5 and charged with sexual abuse of a child younger than 12 years old. He is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

Timothy Ross Streeter, 47, of Montevallo, was arrested by the Montevallo Police Department Dec. 5 regarding an incident that occurred Dec. 4, according to court documents.

No court dates have been scheduled at this time.

Sexual abuse of a child is a class B felony and occurs when a person 16 years old or older “subjects another person who is less than 12 years old to sexual contact.”

If convicted, Streeter could face 10 years or more in prison.
