FROM STAFF REPORTS

Students, parents, educators and community members are invited to take part in a survey about schools located in Shelby County. The survey closes Dec. 20 and can be accessed from Speakup4schools.org/speakup2013.

Speak Up is a national online research project facilitated by the nonprofit organization Project Tomorrow. According to the website, the survey “gives individuals the opportunity to share their viewpoints about key educational issues, particularly concerning 21st century education and technology.”

All districts and schools currently in the National Center for Education Statistics database are automatically registered to participate.

Each year, findings are summarized and shared with national and state policy makers, according to the website. Districts can access their data online, free-of-charge in February 2014.

To manage your school or district information and obtain free, online access to your school or district’s aggregated results, your registration must be activated by going to the Speak Up website and clicking “Register for Speak Up.”
