UM Men’s basketball No. 21 in poll

MONTEVALLO – The University of Montevallo men’s basketball team is ranked No. 21 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) NCAA Division II poll, marking the seventh consecutive week the Falcons have been ranked in the top 25 during the regular season.

The Falcons, who received 75 votes in the latest poll, are coming off a 61-59 win over visiting Georgia Southwestern in Peach Belt Conference action Jan. 15.

Montevallo is one of two Peach Belt Conference teams ranked in the top 25 in the latest poll. USC Aiken is ranked No. 15 in the latest poll. Georgia Southwestern and GRU Augusta are also receiving votes in the latest poll.

West Liberty (W. Va.) remained No. 1 in the latest poll and received 14 first-place votes with its perfect 12-0 record. Bellarmine (Ky.) is again ranked No. 2 and received two first-place votes. Florida Southern, Metro State (Colo.) and Indiana (Pa.) round out the top five.

Montevallo returns to action Saturday, Jan. 18 on the road at Francis Marion University in a Peach Belt Conference contest in Florence, S.C.

Tip off is set for 2:30 p.m.
