The city of Pelham has opened the Pelham Civic Complex for those who are stranded or seeking shelter from the winter storm, the city announced on Jan. 28.

Severe winter weather dropped more snow than expected on much of Shelby County beginning at about 11 a.m. on Jan. 28, causing numerous accidents, road closures and stranded drivers.

The Civic Complex is located at 500 Amphitheater Road in Pelham.
