Parents with children in Shelby County schools should contact their child’s school directly to receive information as to the plan for release of the child, according to a news release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office”

“Children still at school are safe and warm. Parents attempting to travel roads to the schools are at risk and then at risk again when they leave the school with the child,” the statement read.

Shelby County school administrators and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office are working together to get children home as safely as possible.
