Nominations for Civic Leader of the Year and Citizen of the Year due February 17

MONTEVALLO—Nominations are open for Montevallo’s Civic Leader of the Year and Citizen of the Year awards.

The Civic Leader of the Year award serves to “honor an outstanding leader in Montevallo whose work in the previous year, or over the course of several years, has markedly improved the quality of life for a significant number of the City of Montevallo’s residents,” according to information released from the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce.

To qualify, the nominee must have been involved in several organizations that provide leadership to activities and programs across the Montevallo community. The nominee cannot be an elected official or employee of the City of Montevallo or the Chamber of Commerce. Nominees must be 21 years of age, or older.

The Citizen of the Year award serves to “recognize a citizen of Montevallo whose investment in the community sets them apart by virtue of the intensity and results of their work to support and improve life in the city of Montevallo,” according to the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce.

To qualify, the nominee must have a resume of accomplishments that have strengthened the cultural, educational and business life of Montevallo. The nominee must live in incorporated Montevallo, and cannot be an elected official or employee of the City of Montevallo or the Chamber of Commerce. The nominee must be 21 years of age, or older.

To nominate a worthy individual, submit a nomination form and two letters of support by individuals involved in organizations with the nominee to the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce by Feb. 17.
