Need a 6-foot-tall recycled metal chicken? You won’t have to look far. Cedar Creek Nursery in Montevallo has just that and a whole lot more.
“Not that we get much call for 6-foot-tall wire chickens,” laughed John Stephens, assistant manager of the three-generation family-owned business, but it does cause a lot of conversation.
Located in Montevallo on Highway 119 on five acres of property owned by the Stephens family the nursery opened for business in 2006. That’s when John’s dad, Johnny Stephens, decided to retire from his job as a landscaper and go into business for himself.
