SCSO: North Shelby residents evacuated after flooding

COLUMBIANA — Shelby County sheriff’s deputies evacuated residents of King’s Mobile Home Park off Cahaba Valley Road April 7 after flash flooding overnight.
Evacuees were relocated to nearby Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where a temporary shelter has been set up, according to a news release.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office encourages all motorists to exercise caution while driving. “If you encounter standing water across the roadways, please do not attempt to cross,” the sheriff’s office said.
