Safety checkpoint set for Saturday, April 12

COLUMBIANA — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a safety checkpoint between 2 and 3:30 a.m. April 12 on Cahaba Beach Road north of U.S. 280, according to a news release.
Uniformed deputies will conduct the checkpoint in marked sheriff’s vehicles visible to any motorist. Anyone traveling in the area during this time is urged to drive cautiously and be aware of law enforcement’s presence.
