The city of Montevallo has received a bomb threat, which forced an evacuation of Main Street, according to an email sent to University of Montevallo students, faculty and staff.
The reported threat did not include the University of Montevallo campus, but the university encouraged all students, faculty and staff to avoid the downtown Montevallo area, according to the email.
At 6:33 p.m. the university released a statement on twitter, which stated that the situation had been resolved.
“We are pleased to report that the city of Montevallo bomb threat has been resolved without injury or harm and the downtown area deemed safe,” the university wrote.
