A 43-year-old Maylene man has been indicted on a charge of allegedly causing “debilitating” injuries to an Alabaster man during a 2013 robbery, according to Shelby County court records.

Donald James Crosier, who lists an address in the 400 block of Cedar Grove Lane, was indicted in May by a Shelby County grand jury on felony charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.

The Alabaster Police Department arrested Donald Crosier, along with Joshua Crosier, Justin Crosier and Alexander Berryhill, on Nov. 7, 2013 after responding to a Nov. 5 robbery in the 1100 block of First Avenue West.

According to Donald Crosier’s indictment, he allegedly used a gun to “cause serious physical injury to another person” during the robbery.

Alabaster Police Chief Curtis Rigney previously said the suspect allegedly used a shotgun to assault – but not shoot – the victim in the case after the victim discovered the suspects in his house.

Rigney previously said the victim suffered “debilitating” injuries in the incident, and was treated and released from UAB Hospital.

According to his indictment, Donald Crosier allegedly attempted to steal an Xbox 360 and the shotgun from the victim’s house.

Robbery and assault charges against Joshua Crosier, Justin Crosier and Alexander Berryhill were bound over to a grand jury on May 28. As of June 2, no indictments had been returned against the other three suspects.

Donald Crosier is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges during a June 10 hearing at the Shelby County Courthouse.

If convicted of the crimes, each suspect could face between two years and life in prison.
