INDIAN SPRINGS VILLAGE – Indian Springs Village hosted its first Little Mr. and Miss Indian Springs Village Pageant May 10 at Oak Mountain Intermediate School.  All proceeds were donated to the Indian Springs Village Children’s Fund.

According to Indian Springs Village Town Clerk Joan Downs, the event was “just lovely.”

Ranging mostly from ages 4-8, the nine contestants dressed in their “Sunday best” were judged not only by their appearances, but also by their ability to answer on stage questions given by the emcee. Contestants were encouraged to be themselves.

“Everyone was so cute,” Downs recalls.

Each contestant received a small gift and a rose donated by Winn Dixie.

Penny Lane Burr won Little Miss Indian Springs Village, and Barrett Alvis won Little Mr. Indian Springs Village. The First Runner Up title was given to Maggie Alvis, and the Second Runner Up title was given to Sydney Webster.

The pageant court included Brenna Casey, Avery Cork, Sadie Arnold, Belle Casey and Ashley Macrory.

All winners will receive a place of honor in the Indian Springs Village July 4 parade.

Although the contest received less participation than anticipated, approximately $500 was raised for the Children’s Fund, including a percentage of the sales from the photo/video packages by KP Studio and Photography.

The Indian Springs Village Children’s Fund supplies needy students in the Oak Mountain school system with Christmas gifts and clothing.
