PELHAM—The Pelham Public Library is hosting an information session about careers and training in electrical, plumbing, masonry, welding, HVAC and other commercial construction trades on July 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Byron McCain of the Construction Education Foundation of America will discuss the organization’s skilled trade apprenticeship program, which trains students in a skilled trade and assists them in finding jobs. He will also discusses scholarship opportunities and skilled trade career paths, Pelham Public Library Adult Services Coordinator David Smith explained.
Part of a series of family and student financial education programs funded by the Smart Investing @ Your Library grant from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Investor Education Foundation and the American Library Association, the July 29 program has been “spectacularly successful,” with more than 40 registered to attend, Smith said.
There is still space available, and any interested in attending the information session is encouraged to register by calling the Pelham Public Library at 620-6418.
