Kristen Pool Ray

Kristen Pool Ray (Sept. 27, 1962 – July 1, 2014) of Pelham, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the age of 51. Born in Birmingham to Ethel and Bill Pool, she graduated from Shades Valley High School and spent two years at the University of Auburn at Montgomery.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Ray; and parents, William R. and Ethel Frazer Pool.
She is survived by her son, Jordan Ryan Ray; two brothers, Chip Pool and Sandy Pool (Paula); a step-son, Andy Ray (Jaymie); granddaughter, Jessica Ann Ray; several nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be July 26 at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church in Montevallo.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Shelby County Humane Society.
