The School Board voted unanimously during the meeting to hire Taylar Posey, who also previously filled in as the TSGC assistant principal, as the new MVES assistant principal. Posey will replace former MVES assistant principal Charissa Cole, who recently was named principal at Alabaster’s Creek View Elementary School.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity. It’s something I’ve prayed about for a long time,” Posey said after she was hired. “I feel God has placed me in a perfect spot.”

Alabaster School Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers said Posey is joining “a great team” at MVES.

“I don’t think I could have been placed with a better pair of people in (MVES Principal) Mrs. (Rachea) Simms and (MVES Assistant Principal) Mrs. (Carol) Williamson,” Posey said during an interview after the meeting. “This is definitely something I have worked toward for a long time.”

One of the MVES assistant principal positions has been vacant since Cole was named principal of CVES on July 25.

In addition to Cole, the past several months have seen several administration changes at Alabaster schools. Former Thompson High School Principal Dr. Daniel Steele is now the principal at Thompson Sixth Grade Center, former TSGC principal Neely Woodley is the principal at Thompson Middle School, former TIS Principal Dr. Ke Jones is the school system’s federal program director, former CVES Principal Brent Byars is now the TIS principal and former Saraland Elementary School Christopher Tangle is now the the THS principal.
