FROM STAFF REPORTS

The 2014 ASPCA Rachel Ray $100k Challenge will be over in just days. We are one of only 50 shelters accepted into this national challenge and we are trying to save more lives than ever before. Every adoption we do through Aug. 31 counts. If we can save more than the other 49 shelters, we can win the grand prize of $100K to help us continue our life-saving work. Meet this week’s highlighted pets that need your help to find forever homes.

Stella is a long and lanky and 7-month-old hound mix, currently weighing 50 pounds with some growing left in her. She is outgoing and will be a gentle giant at full size. Look at those sad puppy dog eyes, don’t let her wait for you one more minute.

Alma is a 2-year-old tabby cat with a few favorite things: Cat naps. Cat chow. A bit of canned food…daily. Yummy treats. A bit of space to be an independent kitty. A sunny perch. A hiding spot. Toys. Chin scratches. A warm lap. Love. You!
