Shirley Jean Abel, age 77, of Montevallo, Ala. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 11. She is preceded in death by her father, Clifton Richards; sister, Barbara Hendrickson; step-mother, Geraldine Richards. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Tom Abel; son, Scott Abel (Sandra); brother, Gerold Richards; grandson, Brandyn Scott Abel; nephews, Alan K. Hendrickson and Ronald Hendrickson; niece, Wanda Butts.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel (Montevallo).
