Rebecca Jane “Becky” Simmons

Rebecca Jane “Becky” Simmons, age 73, of Montevallo, passed away Oct. 21. She was born to Susie and Seamon Pennington in the community of Paremont (Helena) with 17 bothers and one sister. She graduated from Thompson High School. She loved fishing, camping, BBQing, gambling and Alabama football. She wasn’t afraid to work outside in construction and worked harder than any man.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Simmons (Donna); siblings, Johnny Pennington (Geraldine), Wayne Pennington (Jane), Sue Dunn, David Pennington, and Larry O’Neal Pennington; grandchildren, Jeff “JJ” Simmons, Jr. and Brittany Rebecca Simmons; and great-grandchildren, Konner Simmons and Allison Grace Simmons.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). The service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday. Bro. Tim Trimble will officiate and burial will be at Roy Cemetery in Helena.
