PELHAM—Looking for something to put you in the holiday spirit? Join the Pelham Public Library for the annual Decorate a Gingerbread House program on Dec. 4, 6 and 8.
For only $5 per house, attendants are provided with all the tools needed to decorate a gingerbread house, including a pre-assembled house, a bag of icing and a wide assortment of candy.
“You get everything you need to decorate a gingerbread house,” the Pelham Public Library’s Anna Olson said. “We always get some amazing, creative things.”
There are no age requirements for participation and the program offers fun for the whole family. Olson said one of the best parts is “you’re making a mess at the library… not at your kitchen table.”
Attendants can bring home their unique, hand-decorated gingerbread house at the end of the program.
“My favorite part is seeing the way everyone envisions their houses,” Olson said. “The creativity is just astounding.”
The Decorate a Gingerbread House program is a “longstanding tradition” at the Pelham Public Library with a more than 15-yaer history, Olson explained. It is also a very popular program, and those interested in attending are strongly encouraged to register in advance.
“Spaces go fast,” Olson said, noting the program for Thursday, Dec. 4 is already half- full.
The program is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2:30 p.m. and Monday Dec. 8 at 4 p.m., and admission costs $5 per house in advance or $10 per house at the door. To reserve a spot, call the Pelham Library at 620-6418.
