Angela Zeng of Spain Park High School took home a well-deserved Best of Show at the High School Juried Art Show, with a strikingly detailed self-portrait. Her drawing demonstrated well thought-out design; right down to the folds and sheen of her jacket, and the candid expression on her face.
As a figure artist with a background in graphic design, Juror Terry Strickland was impressed with the quality of work submitted. She described the Best of Show as “very honest and well-composed.”
Terry looked for craftsmanship, thoughtfully conceived ideas and design. She further explained, “I also looked for work that was drawn from life. I think that’s really important for students to be practicing.”
