Jimmy Donald Thompson, age 73, of Alabaster, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 29, peacefully at his home.
His chains have been broken; he is dancing with the Lord.
Jimmy worked as a policeman, pastor and with the S.C. Board of Education. He also served in the National Guard. He loved his family and would always be the one to make you laugh and smile.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brother and his son, Randy. Jimmy’s survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Patsy, four children, six grandchildren, one sister and a host of other family.
The family wishes to acknowledge New Beacon Hospice for their care especially his favorite, Leisa.
In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 1 at the Amazing Grace Worship Center from 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be at the church on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m.
Charter Funeral Home is directing.
