Joyce Reach Smith, age 60, of Columbiana, died Saturday, Nov. 30, after a valiant seven month battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, William T. “Bill” Smith; daughter, Kelly Pitts (Eric); mother, Faye Reach; brother, Charles Reach (Hazel); sisters, Ann Prestridge (Walter), Linda Moore (Robert) and Lois Cooper (Bruce); stepsons, Glenn Smith (Mary) and Craig Smith; grandchildren, Brayden, Ella, and Emma Pitts; step-grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Ryan and Ally Smith; seven nieces and nephews; eighteen great nieces and nephews; and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, the late Samuel A. Reach.

Joyce was greatly loved by her family and many friends. Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbiana, Bill Justice Sunday School Class, Vignette Club of Columbiana, and Task Force Leader of Ride for Kids with husband Bill.
Joyce was a breath of sunshine to all who knew her. Her feisty and spunky personality lit up a room whenever she entered. She was a caregiver who cared deeply for others and never met a stranger. “She who leaves a trail of glitter will never be forgotten.”
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana. The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2014, with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
