COLUMBIANA–The Stand Up Program will be hosting a Youth Christmas Holiday Idol giveaway and talent show on Friday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. that will include free entry, free food, free drawing and free entertainment.

The Holiday Giveaway will be held at the City Recreation Center in Columbiana and up to $2,000 will be awarded to the top performer.

Stand Up Program Director Bridgetta Taylor used to have a troubled past but she has since turned her life around.

“The whole time I was running from God and he was trying to catch me,” said Taylor.

“God has been so good and faithful and everything he said he was going to do for me he’s doing it, and I just want to give back everything that mankind has given me.”

The Stand Up Program helps mentor children and set their lives on track when it was established on Oct. 6, 2012.

It has grown since it was established, and Taylor is going to continue to help the youth and show that God can turn your life around even when you’re at your lowest point.
