Albert Lee Pickett, Sr., “Bro. AL”, age 83, of Pea Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 5.
He was a pastor in the Pea Ridge Community for 30 years and a devoted mason for over 50 years. He was also a lifetime Alabama beekeeper. Albert served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Airborne Division.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and three brothers.
His surviving relatives include his loving wife of 60 years, Cherry Pickett; two daughters, Regina Pickett Garson and Karen Pickett El-Kady; son, Lee Pickett (Angela); sister, Billie Elliott (Raymond); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 8 from 5:30-8 p.m. for friends in the Rockco’s Chapel. His funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Church in Pea Ridge with Rev. Sam Ross and Rev. Jayson Heath officiating his service. Albert laid-in-state one hour prior to service time. Burial followed in the Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge.
