CHELSEA—Join the Chelsea Business Alliance for the first Flapjack Fundraiser at the Chelsea Applebee’s on Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the CBA’s scholarship fund for a student in Chelsea High School’s Future Business Leaders of America group.
Tickets for the event cost $5 and cover a full breakfast of pancakes, sausage and a choice of coffee of juice. Attendants can dine in or pick up food to go.
“We’re very excited,” CBA member and event organizer Je Anne Smith said.
The Feb. 7 event is the first of its kind for CBA, but Smith said it is certainly not the last.
“We are establishing a scholarship fund to support organizations in our local Chelsea area,” Smith said, noting the CHHS FBLA is the “first group we’ve chosen to award a scholarship for.”
Smith said the CBA’s roughly 40 members, representing businesses throughout the community, are excited to support the CHHS FBLA.
“The FBLA just kind of mirrors everything we do every day,” Smith said. “We want this to be a long term partnership with them… This is really the beginning.”
Tickets for the Feb. 7 Flapjack Fundraiser are available for purchase at the Chelsea Library, City Hall, PostNet and Winn-Dixie, and from any CBA or CHHS FBLA member.
