COLUMBIANA–Two designated dates have been set for residents, churches, civic groups and municipalities in Shelby County to dispose of trash and debris at no charge.
The dates have been set for Saturday, April 11 and Saturday, Oct. 3.
A resolution approving the dates was confirmed at the Feb. 23 Shelby County Commission meeting.
The no charge dates are intended for those wishing to dump residential household debris.
Residents of Shelby County will be limited to one-ton trucks/trailers or less. All municipal initiatives or projects on these dates that involve contract haulers will be allowed to participate as long as prior approval is obtained through Shelby County Environmental Services and each applicable waste transport vehicle displays the county assigned access placard according to the resolution.
The Shelby County Landfill is located off Alabama 70 at 401 Landfill Rd between Columbiana and Calera.
