EBSCO Industries announces two acquisitions

EBSCO Industries announced the acquisition of both YBP Library Services and All Current Electrical Sales in a March 31 news release. The acquisitions occurred in late February.

Headquartered off of U.S. 280, EBSCO Industries is a privately held company that owns 24 diverse businesses, including EBSCO Information Services, the largest provider of research content, search services and delivery platforms to libraries worldwide.

“We are excited to welcome YBP and All Current to the EBSCO family of companies.,” EBSCO President and CEO Tim Collins wrote in the March 31 release. “These are mature companies with significant scale that also have strong growth potential. They will help us to accelerate our growth.”

On Feb. 20, 2015, EBSCO Information Services acquired YBP Library Services, the market leader in delivering more than 12 million print and digital books to academic, research and special libraries.

YBP was founded in 1971 and currently has 300 employees. The business is headquartered in Contoocook, N.H.

“This is an ideal partnership, one that is good for YBP, EBSCO and the library community,” Collins wrote. “EBSCO’s growing database offerings and current full suite of journal ordering and maintenance workflow services combined with YBP’s print and e-book acquisition workflows position EBSCO to successfully streamline and improve back-end services for libraries.”

EBSCO Industries acquired All Current Electrical Sales on Feb. 18. All Current Electrical Sales is a New Jersey-based reseller and distributor of electrical components, including conduit fittings, controls, circuit breakers and custom electrical panel assemblies with a total of more than 100,000 SKUs.

All Current Electrical Sales has eight warehouses and offices across the nation in New Jersey, Philadelphia, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Baton Rouge and Seattle.
