Miners, 1908. Turn-of-the-century miners worked long hours for low pay. These men are preparing to begin a shift at a mine nearHelena. C.I. Hinds, third from the right, was later a fireboss at the Mossboro Mine and foreman at the Eureka Mine No. 4. He became Helena’s first mayor after the city’s incorporation in 1917.
