Fern Alice Humphrey, age 93, of Pelham, formerly of Cameron, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 8. She was born May 25, 1922.
Fern was a volunteer with the auxiliary at Shelby Baptist Medical Center as a Pink Lady for the past 15 years, where she touched many lives.
Her survivors include her daughter, Linda Allison (Jon); son, Ronn Humphey (TK); sister, Elsye Hendren (Jim); brother, Wayne Burkett; special friends, Wallis and Shirley Harrison; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at Charter Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 4 p.m., including a presentation by the Pink Ladies. Chaplin Gary Yarbough will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made in Fern’s name to: St. Jude’s Research Hospital/Cancer Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Fern will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Charter Funeral Home is directing.
