Marion Colleen Mitchell
Montevallo

Marion Colleen Mitchell, the second of nine children born to Jasper E. and Alberta Eason Ingram, went to be with her Lord at the age of 83.
She started working at an early age washing dishes, standing on a milk crate, to be able to reach the sink so she could help her parents provide for her family. She continued to work through her adult years so that her siblings would never go without and in many ways filled a parental role.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband, Dr. W.S. Mitchell, her only child, Nevis Glass Sides, and her three brothers, Porter, Wright, and Walter Ingram, as well as a step son Eason Mitchell.
She is survived by her two granddaughters, Amy Shirey (Kevin) and their daughters Emme and Jordan Shirey; and Beth Lovejoy (Lonnie) and their daughter Alana Lovejoy. Her five sisters who survive her are Gerrie Graves, Anne Armstrong (Doyce), Peggy Busby (Jerry), Nancy Owen (Donnie), and Linda Harris (John). She is also survived by her stepchildren, Tim Mitchell, Susan Jones, and Gayle Faulkner (Terry).
Services for Colleen will be held Saturday, June 20, at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calera Baptist Church where Colleen had worshipped for many years.
