Who will be the summertime reading hero that wins an iPad Mini?

Come to the end of the summer elementary reading program celebration and grand prize drawing to find out. It might just be you.

Everyone in attendance is encouraged to enjoy the free pizza, prizes and fun while Tommy Johns presents “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape.”

This engaging program features Claudia the Hippo, Roosevelt Rat and Tommy Johns using stories and magic to entertain and excite young readers about books and literary adventures available at the library.

You’re not signed up for the drawing? Well, you’re in luck because it’s not too late to enter the drawing for the iPad Minis.

Sign up for the Columbiana Public Library summer reading program, and you might just be the winner.

Once entered into the grand prize drawing, you do not have to be present to win.

You just have to read and register your efforts with the friendly Columbiana Public Library staff.

Drawings for iPad Minis will also be held on July 14 (middle school) and 16 (high school) at 5 p.m. concluding the summer reading series.

Additional activities the week of July 6-10 are as follows: Monday, free pizza and a movie at 1 p.m. (Battle for the Book); and Tuesday, Miss Jennie’s Story time at 9:30 a.m., which includes a story and craft for children between the ages of birth and second grade.

Also on Tuesday mornings, the Loose Stitches Knitting group meets at 10 a.m.; no experience is necessary.

Tuesday evening, come for free pizza and a movie at 5 p.m. (Guardians of the Galaxy). Thursday features Tommy Johns 1-3 p.m. and the conclusion party and grand prize drawing for the elementary summer reading program, followed by a free movie and pizza at 5 p.m. (Seventh Son).

The library will be closed on July 3 and 4.
