PELHAM— This Fourth of July brought more than fireworks to the Pelham area, as Brito’s Supermarket officially opened at 150 Cahaba Valley Road.
The Mexican market offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, specializing in affordable grocery from Mexico and Central America. Inside, customers will also find a grill, butcher and bakery.
The in-house butcher carries chicken, some fresh seafood (sometimes including whole fish and octopus), pork and beef, along with house-made chorizo and marinated beef fajita meat.
The taqueria inside serves a wide variety of authentic Mexican tacos, including chicken, shrimp, beef, pork, tongue and tripe. Tacos are made-to-order on the grill with onions, cilantro and more. Brito’s also has a bakery case filled with fresh baked bread, pastries and made-daily tortillas.
Britos Supermarket was originally founded in 2008 and has an additional location in Alabaster at 103 Buck Creek Plaza. For more information, visit the Brito’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/pages/Britos-Supermarket.
