Alice Elizabeth “Beth” Hardin, age 87, of Shelby Shores, took her first step into glory and entered her heavenly home at 5:08 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2.
She was raised in Birmingham by her parents, Alice Faust Harrell Jones and Roy South Jones. Beth attended Mrs. Howard’s School for Girls on Highland Ave. and the University of Montevallo. She was a Prayer Warrior and loved her family, church, and Lord and Savior. She had a warm, loving heart and a sweet, gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Felton Hardin, Jr.; granddaughter, Joan Elizabeth “Joy” Killingsworth; brother, Roy South Jones, Jr.; and sister, Dorothy Gayle Kelly.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan Blythe Campbell Killingsworth (Steve) and Alice Ruth “Mickey” Hardin Browning (Rob); son, Roy Wesley “Wes” Hardin; grandchildren, Patricia Dawn “Tricia” Killingsworth Littleton (Steven), Robert Kyle “Boomer” Browning, Andrew Cory Browning (Trisha) and Megan Nicole Hardin Spain (James); a great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). Her funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Calera Bible Baptist Church. A committal service will follow at Alabama National Cemetery at 2:45 p.m.
