Farris Lee (Bud) Cox, age 65, of Helena, passed away Friday, July 31, at Shelby Medical Center.
Farris was preceded in death by his parents, John and Omega Cox; daughter, Gracie Terene Cox Robinson; and sister, Johnnie Lou Beard.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Cox; grandson, Dillon Robinson; son in law, Mike Robinson; sisters, Louise (Ray) Smith, Shirley (Terry) Hosmer, and Patsy (David) Honeycutt; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Farris also had a host of wonderful caring friends.
He was a construction contractor and a lifelong resident of Shelby Country. Farris enjoyed taking many adventurous trips on his bright red Harley and was known to enjoy a fast ride behind the wheel of his red World of Wheels winning Thunderbird racecar, once owned by Bob Glidden.
Visitation and services were held at the Amazing Grace Worship Center on Sunday, Aug. 2, from 2-3 p.m. for friends followed by his service at 3 p.m. He was laid to rest in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Maylene.
