PELHAM— Republican presidential candidate, Ted Cruz, will be visiting Pelham Aug. 9 as part of the Shelby County Republican Party’s “Southern Social.” Cruz will be speaking at the Pelham Civic Complex on from 2-4 p.m.

Ted Cruz was elected in 2012 as the junior United States Senator from Texas. He announced March 23 that he would run for the Republican Party nomination in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The event is casual and open to the public, and voters are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions.
