Columbiana man killed in I-59 crash near Tuscaloosa

A Columbiana man died in a two-vehicle crash Aug. 4 on Interstate 59 near Tuscaloosa.

Johnathan Fredrick Matzke, 20, was driving on I-59 when his 2008 Ford F-250 collided with a 2008 Volvo driven by Ira Murphy, 40, of Columbia, S.C., at about 4:05 p.m. 16 miles north of Tuscaloosa, according to Senior Trooper Reginal King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Matzke was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

No more information has been released as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
