Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped the afternoon of Aug. 19 in Shelby County.

Coty Baker, 32, left from his assigned job location in Sterrett at noon, according to an Alabama Department of Corrections press release.

Baker is described in the release as a 5-foot-11-inch, 184-pound white male, with brown hair, green eyes and multiple tattoos. He was reportedly wearing civilian attire.

Baker is an inmate at the Childersburg Work Release Center.

Anyone with information on Baker’s location is urged to notify a local law enforcement agency, the facility from which Baker escaped, or to call the ADOC at 1-800-831-8825.
