HELENA–Maplewood Lane Assisted Living facility will be celebrating 20 years of business in the Helena community and to acknowledge the milestone, a celebration will take place on Sunday, Aug. 30.

Refreshments, entertainment, door prizes and guided tours of the facility will be given from 2-4 p.m.

Barbara Huffstetler, RN, ALA II, has been with Maplewood for three years and discussed why she enjoys the Maplewood Lane facility so much.

“We provide a more homelike atmosphere and individual care is greater and whoever comes here becomes family,” said Huffstetler. “We’re Helena’s best kept secret and I want to open it up to anyone or anybody.”

“Maplewood Lane is an assisted living/respite care facility that opened in 1995 and is licensed by the State of Alabama. Our highly trained, experienced, and caring staff truly enjoys caring for the elderly and adults with special needs. Residents will be encouraged to live an active life through the many social activities we offer. We provide a home-like atmosphere with professional care, based on years of experience,” stated the Maplewood website.

Huffstetler said the celebration on Aug. 30 is open to anyone in the public and those participating in the door prizes must be present to win.
