NORTH SHELBY – In the final tune up before the regular season, 6A Chelsea welcomed in 7A Mountain Brook for a preseason jamboree. The varsity played the visiting Spartans even to a 17-17 tie. Mountain Brook won the game on the scoreboard thanks to a touchdown by the freshman team late in the game, closing the contest out at 24-17. Stats were unavailable at the press deadline.

Chelsea starts the regular season next week when it travels to in-county Briarwood.
