WEST BLOCTON – After nearly a two-hour rain delay to start the game, the Vincent Yellow Jackets fell in a huge early hole against the host West Blocton Tigers, and trailed 41-0 at the half. Vincent ended up losing the game 41-20.

Vincent clawed back somewhat in the second half, but the game was well out of reach by that point. The Yellow Jackets accumulated 202 yards of offense. Head coach Jason Hill decided to go with Matthew Swift at quarterback, and was two-for-seven through the air for 84 yards. The Yellow Jackets rushed the ball 37 times for 118 yards, totaling 44 plays on the night.

Robbie Albright led the way for Vincent on the ground with 12 rushes for 76 yards, 43 of which came on a touchdown scamper in the second half. The longest touchdown play of the night for Vincent came when Swift connected with Stanley Cooper for a 77 yard touchdown. Swift also ran for a touchdown as well, giving the Yellow Jackets their third touchdown.

Vincent falls to 0-1, and will face Corner on Aug. 28.
